Most of you probably know about goodreads, at least if you – like me – are a bookworm. If not, here’s the very short version: goodreads is a site that lets you keep track on all the books you want to read, have read, or are currently reading. It’s also a very great site to get inspiration for new reading and discover old books you always wanted to read. In other words it’s (among other things) your very own virtual book catalogue. A lot of authors have profiles on the site where you can get a lot of information about upcoming and old books. Also, you can read or write book reviews, debate in groups and – probably most important of all – get to know other book lovers.
If you click the photo it will direct you to my profile on goodreads. I read (and write about) a lot of different genres. Sometimes in Danish, sometimes in English, depending on the book I’m reading and the subject matter. The site is originally in English but being a Dane I’m happy to see that more and more Danish authors and bookworms are finding their way onto the site.
Besides focusing on specific books or titles you can also choose to dive into various subjects like philosophy, history, politics, etc. The groups on goodreads are a great place to start if you’re interested in a specific subject, era or genre.
Goodreads has a corporation with amazon, you know, the huge internet book store, so if you’re the proud owner of a kindle reader you can access your goodreads profile from there. This is rather nifty and very useful.
Do drop by on goodreads and don’t be afraid of adding me as a friend. Like any social site, goodreads only really gets fun when you start interacting with other people 🙂
